Her Honour the Republican Vice President, Mrs. W.K Mutale Nalumango, MP, today reaffirmed the importance of professional communication in national development during a courtesy call by a delegation from the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC).

The visit, led by ZIPRC Vice President Mr. Mwiika Malindima, was aimed at appreciating Her Honour’s support and exploring areas of collaboration between ZIPRC and the Government. Last year, the Vice President was conferred with the prestigious title of Honorary Fellow of ZIPRC in recognition of her leadership and contribution to the communication sector in Zambia.

During the meeting, ZIPRC extended its gratitude to the Vice President for her continued support and for gracing the 2024 ZIPRC End-of-Year Gala Dinner, where the conferment was officially made.

As Honorary Fellow, the Vice President was invited to be a champion of ZIPRC’s mission to promote ethical communication, stakeholder engagement, and public accountability. The Institute also proposed collaborative efforts with the Office of the Vice President on public awareness campaigns and capacity-building initiatives aligned with the 8th National Development Plan and Vision 2030.

Her Honour welcomed ZIPRC’s strategic intent to engage across sectors and emphasized the need for credible communication in governance. She appreciated the role ZIPRC is playing in shaping the communication profession and underscored that effective communication is critical to delivering government policies and fostering citizen trust.

Among the key highlights discussed were youth professional’s mentorship, ESG communication, and support to public sector institutions.

ZIPRC reaffirmed its loyalty and commitment to serving the nation through strategic communication and pledged to continue engaging with the Office of the Vice President on matters of national importance.
