The Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC) convened a key stakeholder engagement meeting yesterday at the Best Western Plus Hotel, Lusaka, to review the proposed Statutory Instrument (SI) under the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication Act, 2022.

The meeting marked an important step in ZIPRC’s efforts to strengthen professionalism, compliance, and growth in the public relations and communication sector. The proposed SI outlines frameworks for practitioner registration, membership categories, and continuous professional development requirements.

Speaking during the meeting, ZIPRC reiterated its commitment to fostering professionalism and ensuring that the regulatory framework aligns with industry needs. The event also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to offer valuable input on the draft SI to enhance its inclusivity and effectiveness.

Stakeholders that attended the meeting included representatives from Cabinet Office, Ministries of Information and Media, Justice, professional bodies, civil societies and academia, among others.
