In a quest to equip students with knowledge and information, the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC) in collaboration with Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce yesterday (June 27, 2024) hosted a Student Symposium under the theme “Empowering the next generation: Innovation in Public Relations and Communication”.

The Symposium brought together students studying Journalism and Public Relations, from level one to final year students at the College.

The symposium provided a platform for interaction between ZIPRC and students to address career development and opportunities in the Public Relations and Communication industry, membership registration process, and benefits of becoming a ZIPRC member as students.

During the event, renowned Public Relations practitioner Chris Akufuna presented a guest lecture on “Media Relations”. Former ZIPRC Council Member Daniel Banda gave a presentation on “ZIPRC Act and Its Implication”.

Also in attendance was Evelyn Hone College Head of School Media and Information Science Sipo Kapumba, Members of staff and ZIPRC Officers.
